The Sunday Roast is such an established British institution that many of us would lapse into a serious funk and think that the world had come to an end if something were to befall it! However, we'd probably all agree that though a great home made Roast with all the trimmings is a wonderful way for family and friends to get together, perhaps, once in a while, it just makes sense to throw caution to the wind and let someone else take up the slack. In recognition of this, in addition to our a la carte menu, On Sundays, nearly all our chef's specials are dedicated to Roasts.

As a result, Roasts at the Bear and Ragged Staff have become something of an Oxford institution. And for good reason. Though we would never consider usurping the position of Mum (or Dad for that matter!) as the primary provider of Sunday Roasts, we reckon we can make a convincing case for being the next best option. We provide a two course Sunday lunch from £15.00, or three courses from £19.00.. A sample menu has been posted above for guidance purposes.

All our Roasts are served with Goose Fat Roast Spuds, Honey Roast Parsnips, bowls of steaming seasonal veggies and extra gravy on the side.
