Burns Night

Christmas and the New Year are all but over and the first event of 2012 is lurking on the horizon! The Bear has been celebrating Burns Night regularly for many a wee year now with great verve and vigour. 2012 will see no change. The night will feature internationally acclaimed piper Merrick Sheldon, who will be piping guests to the table.
We will have a special Highland inspired game menu featuring:- • Cock a Leekie Soup • Arbroath Smokie Kedgeree • Venison Game Cobbler • Roast Haggis with Traditional Gravy, ‘Neeps and Tatties • Clapshot
We will also be raising funds for the Mayor of Cumnor’s Charities after dinner with another round of “Whisky Curling”, where the grand prize will be another stunning bottle of rare Single Malt whisky. Those of you who don’t know what whisky curling is will just have to be there on the night! Its fun! Highland music and dancing will also feature. Early bookings are recommended for this popular event!
